All posts and content submitted to this subreddit must be directly related to thunderstorms. This includes discussions, questions, news updates, educational information, and media specifically focused on thunderstorm events, science, safety, and impact.

Off-topic content that does not pertain to thunderstorms will be removed to at moderator discretion. Please help us keep the community focused and informative by staying on topic.

Posts or comments containing insults, name calling, harassment (sexual or otherwise), discrimination, racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, trolling, or generally offensive or derogatory remarks will be removed. Do not post or share any personal information, including full names, addresses, or other identifying details of individuals, families, or private properties impacted by severe weather without consent. Ensure that any media shared is done so with respect for the privacy of those involved.

Posts or comments expressing a desire for severe weather to occur are strictly forbidden. Storms of any kind can be serious weather events with potentially devastating impacts, and such comments show a lack of sensitivity towards those affected.

Sharing accurate information is crucial, especially in a community focused on weather. Please ensure that the information you post is factual and reliable. Spreading misinformation, particularly about safety or ongoing events, is not allowed.

Spam of any kind is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, repetitive posts, excessive self-promotion, and content unrelated to the sub’s topic.

Self-promotion/advertisement of products or services of any kind is prohibited without prior approval from the mod team.

Promotion of self-generated content, social media accounts, and blogs/vlogs/VODs are permitted within reason. Examples of acceptable promotion include but are not limited to live streams, YouTube videos, or photography. Submissions should not spam the sub and should make an attempt to authentically engage with the community.
