  1. This sub is primarily for serious questions; however, we welcome satire. Please flair it!
    Priority: 0

We want to seriously help people make decisions and educate food safety. (of course, when in doubt; throw it out!) Please limit your satire posts/comments to ONLY posts with the CircleJerk/Satire flair. Abuse of this system will lead to a ban.

  2. No unhelpful, dangerous, or obviously horrible advice on anything not flared as a shit post.
    Priority: 1

There are no stupid questions here. If someone asks a serious question, we expect serious answers. Removal of comments/improperly flared posts should be expected. Bans are at the discretion of the mods.

If the post is properly flared as a shit post, the answer is yes. You should definitely eat those hands. We recommend a 50/50 mix of BBQ and Sweet and Sour Sauce, stored on the counter for no less than one week. ONLY for shit posts do we allow such advice.

  3. Don't be a jerk, even if you didn't start it. Play nice.
    Priority: 2

Every sub has trolls. Don't be one; don't feed them. Mods will look after the troll first, but if you're sitting here feeding them, you may be subject to a ban, also. We'd rather ban the troll that started it, but if you participate without reporting it, the health of the sub is the Prime Directive. Stay out of it, and report problem users. False reports? Same as being a jerk. Don't do it. Discretion of the mods. Play nice.

  4. Even shit posts have certain boundaries. The boundaries apply double to serious posts.
    Priority: 3

There is zero tolerance here. Nothing concerning eating pets, babies, sexual innuendos, or anything that can even be grouped with what would be considered in such a category as this will be tolerated.

Anything else that could be graphic (road kill, maggots, whatever) should be hidden as a spoiler and labelled with a trigger warning!

  5. Sometimes things are... extra. Might be graphic. Mark NSFW and/or hide as spoilers with a warning.
    Priority: 4

If grandma got run over by a reindeer, we don't necessarily need pictures and the full play-by-play to tell you it's not a good idea to eat grandma for dinner. See previous rule. However, if you hit a deer on the way home, and you need some advice, we got you. Just label that post up real good so no one runs into something unnecessarily awful. Go ahead and post! But hide the gruesome details, if it's gruesome. Please. Grandma thanks you.

  6. There are no doctors, lawyers, or experts of any kind on this sub.
    Priority: 5

It doesn't matter if you actually are a doctor, lawyer, or expert of any kind. This is Reddit, Should you choose to accept any advice given, it is with the understanding that NO ONE here is vetted or confirmed to be who they say they are. Eat at your own risk.

  7. Even if you are a doctor, lawyer, or expert of any kind, please participate, not dominate.
    Priority: 6

This goes a bit to the "Don't be a troll, don't feed the trolls rule." Mentioning an expertise or your background is absolutely fine. No issues there. When a conversation degrades to "Oh I have this expertise" and "Oh yeah, well I have this!" Then the next thing you know, we're figuring out who's dad can beat up whose and it's not helping anyone figure out if they're about to accidentally poison their family, So check your ego at the door, state your case, and let the OP decide.

  8. No Political Discussion
    Priority: 7

This sub is not a place for political discourse or exposition. We will remain apolitical.
